Car
If you are traveling by car from Omi to Himeji Castle, take Route 2 (国道2号) heading south. Follow this road for approximately 30 kilometers. You will see signs for Himeji. As you approach the city, turn onto Route 372 (国道372号) towards Himeji, and follow the signs for Himeji Castle. Parking is available near the castle, but be aware that it may incur a fee, typically around 500 yen.
Train
To reach Himeji Castle by public transportation, head to the nearest train station in Omi. Take the JR Sanyo Line (山陽本線) towards Himeji. The journey takes around 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Himeji Station, exit the station and follow the signs for Himeji Castle. It is a 15-minute walk from the station, and you will see signs directing you to the castle. The train fare is approximately 800 yen one way.
Bus
If you prefer to take a bus, check for local bus services from Omi to Himeji. Buses may take a bit longer than trains, around 1 to 1.5 hours, due to stops along the way. Once you arrive at the Himeji bus terminal, you can walk to Himeji Castle, which is about a 20-minute walk. Bus fares vary, typically around 1000 yen.
