Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards Himure Hachiman Shrine located at 257 Miyauchicho, Omihachiman, Shiga 523-0828. From central Omi, take Route 8 towards Omihachiman. Continue on Route 8 for approximately 10 minutes until you reach the Omihachiman area. Look for signs directing you to Miyauchicho. You can find parking nearby the shrine; parking may incur a small fee depending on the lot you use.
Public Transportation - Train
For those using public transportation, take the JR Biwako Line from Omi Station. Board the train heading towards Maibara. After about 15 minutes, alight at Omihachiman Station. From there, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) or take a local bus. To take the bus, head to the bus stop outside the station and look for a bus heading towards Himure Shrine. The bus ride will take about 10 minutes. Be mindful of bus schedules, as they may not run frequently.
Public Transportation - Bus
If you prefer to use the bus directly, you can also take a local bus from Omi to Omihachiman. Check the local bus schedules for routes heading to Miyauchicho. After getting off at the Miyauchicho bus stop, the shrine is just a short walk away (about 5 minutes). Make sure to have some yen ready for bus fares, which typically range from 210 to 300 yen depending on your starting point.
