Car
If you are driving from Omi, first enter the nearest major road heading towards the Aichi Prefecture. Use the Meishin Expressway and follow signs for Nagoya. After about 45 minutes, take the exit for the Tomei Expressway towards Tokyo. Continue on the expressway for approximately 2 hours. When approaching Tokyo, follow signs for Shibuya. Upon reaching Shibuya, navigate to Yoyogikamizonocho. Meiji Jingu is located at 1-1 Yoyogikamizonocho, Shibuya City, Tokyo. Be prepared for parking fees, which can range from ¥500 to ¥2000 depending on the area and time of day.
Public Transportation
To reach Meiji Jingu using public transportation, start by taking the JR Tokaido Line from Omi Station to Tokyo Station. This journey will take about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Tokyo Station, transfer to the JR Yamanote Line and take the train towards Shibuya. After about 15 minutes, get off at Harajuku Station. From Harajuku Station, it's a 10-minute walk to Meiji Jingu. Follow the signs towards the Meiji Jingu entrance, which will lead you through a beautiful forested area. Note that a small entrance fee may apply for certain areas of the shrine.
