    If you're driving from the city center of Omi, head east on Route 8. Continue on Route 8 for about 15 kilometers until you reach Hikone. Take the exit toward Hikone IC and merge onto the Meishin Expressway. After approximately 5 kilometers, take the exit at Hikone and follow the signs to Sawayama Castle Ruins. You can park at the nearby parking area located at Furusawacho, Hikone, Shiga 522-0007. The parking fee is around 500 yen per day.
