Public Transport

From Kintetsu Yoshino Station, the main access point, you have several options to ascend Mt. Yoshino. During the cherry blossom season (late March to late April), shuttle buses run frequently to the Naka Senbon area near Chikurin-in Temple for ¥500. Alternatively, take the Yoshino Ropeway, Japan's oldest aerial tramway, from Senbonguchi Station (a short walk from Yoshino Station) to Yoshinoyama Station for ¥450 one way or ¥610 round trip. Outside of peak season, the ropeway operates less frequently. From Yoshinoyama Station, local buses and minibuses connect to various points on the mountain, including Oku Senbon, with fares ranging from ¥170-¥550 depending on the distance.
Walking

For a more immersive experience, walk from Yoshino Station up the mountain path. The ascent to the main town area takes about 30 minutes. From there, you can explore the various areas of Yoshino on foot. Be aware that the initial climb can be steep, but the paved path offers a picturesque route through the lower reaches of the mountain. Walking allows you to fully appreciate the scenery and discover hidden gems along the way.
