If you are driving from the center of Osumi, head north on Route 1. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 30 kilometers. You will pass through several small towns, and keep an eye on the directional signs for Nakanojo. Once you reach Nakanojo, follow the signs to Iriyama. The 日本最高所 水準点標石 (No.10809) is located at MG6P+73, Iriyama, which is a short drive from Nakanojo. There is no parking directly at the marker, but you can park your car at a nearby public parking area.

Once at Nakanojo Station, take a local bus heading towards Iriyama. The bus fare is approximately 500 yen.
