Car
If you're driving from Owari to Hirosaki Castle, start by getting onto Route 257 from Owari. Follow Route 257 north until you reach the junction with Route 7. Merge onto Route 7 and continue heading north for approximately 50 kilometers. Once you arrive in Hirosaki, follow signs to Hirosaki Castle. There is parking available near the castle, which may incur a fee of around 500 yen for a day.
Train
For those using public transportation, take the Tōhoku Shinkansen from Owari Station to Shin-Aomori Station. This train ride takes approximately 2 hours. From Shin-Aomori, transfer to the Ajigasawa Line and ride to Hirosaki Station, which takes about 30 minutes. Upon arriving at Hirosaki Station, exit and take a taxi to Hirosaki Castle, which is about 10 minutes away and will cost approximately 1,000 yen. Alternatively, you can take a local bus from the station to the castle.
Bus
Another option is to take a highway bus from Owari to Hirosaki. Check the bus schedules for availability, as these may vary. The bus ride typically takes around 3 hours. Once you arrive at Hirosaki Bus Terminal, you can either walk to Hirosaki Castle (approximately 20 minutes) or take a local taxi for about 700 yen.
