If you're traveling by car, head north from central Owari and take the Meishin Expressway towards Kyoto. After approximately 1.5 hours, take the exit towards Kyoto and follow Route 1. Continue on this road until you see signs for Kinkaku-ji. There is a parking area available near the temple, which generally costs around ¥500 for a few hours.

To reach Kinkaku-ji using public transportation, start by taking a train from Owari to Kyoto Station. From Kyoto Station, transfer to the Karasuma Subway Line and travel north to Kitaoji Station.
