Getting There

  • Car

    From Sanuki, take Route 11 (also known as the Takamatsu Expressway) heading towards Takamatsu. After approximately 30 minutes, take the exit towards Yashima. Follow the signs to Mt. Yashima, which will direct you through Yashima Higashimachi. You will arrive at the base of Mt. Yashima. Parking is available near the observation area, but there may be a fee of around 500 yen.

  • Public Transportation - Train

    From Sanuki, head to the nearest train station, which is likely to be either Zentsuji Station or Sanuki Station. Take a train to Takamatsu Station (this may require a transfer depending on your starting station). Once at Takamatsu Station, exit and locate the Kotoden Takamatsu Line. Board a train towards Yashima and disembark at Yashima Station. From the station, it's a 15-minute walk to the base of Mt. Yashima. The train fare from Takamatsu Station to Yashima Station is approximately 400 yen.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    From Sanuki, you can also take a local bus to Takamatsu. Confirm the schedules at your nearest bus stop, as buses may have limited service. Upon reaching Takamatsu, locate the bus terminal and find a bus headed towards Mt. Yashima. The bus ride will take approximately 40 minutes, and the fare is around 500 yen. The bus will drop you near the entrance to Mt. Yashima, making it easy to start your hike.
