Chris is a wonderful guide! He is friendly, open, easy to talk with and knows the mountains around Hokkaido extremely well, He is thoroughly knowledgeable about the hundreds of trails in the area. We asked him to modify our route a bit to take account of a couple of bad knees which he did easily and seamlessly, which is to say without any fuss. Chris knows all of the flora and fauna of the region and equipped himself with bear repellent, which we did not need to use. At the end of our 11km hike, Chris prepared us a delicious camping lunch and then took us to a local Onsen for a wonderful hot spring/cold plunge bath with sauna, the excellent end to a lovely day. We would recommend Chris highly! While we trekked with Chris in September, he also leads day and overnight snowshoe excursions in the winder months.

Perfect Private Hike Around Sapporo, 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Chris was an outstanding guide! He was knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about the area. Having him all to ourselves made the day feel personal. He tailored the pace to us, answered every question, and shared many details about the local landscape along the way. Although the hike wasn’t rated as challenging, it had a few steep sections that really got the heart pumping. Chris kept us motivated and made sure we felt supported the whole time. The effort was absolutely worth it: the views from the top were spectacular, with sweeping panoramas of the surrounding mountains and city below. If you're looking to get out of the city for a rewarding outdoor adventure near Sapporo, I can't recommend a private tour with Chris highly enough. Bring good shoes, plenty of water, and a camera. Amazing hike through snowing country

The tour was fantastic, if you are in Sapporo you need to get on this tour. The national park was beautiful, and the snowshoe experience was exactly what we wanted. Chris was an amazing tour guide. He picked us up, provided us all the gear we needed, and took us through an amazing hike. Additionally, he was very responsive and helpful. I have extensive tattoos so he found an onsen for us that I could visit after the hike. It is tricky to find onsen sometimes in Japan if you are heavily tattooed. I woukd recommend this tour and Chris as a guide to anyone looking for this experience!
