Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From JR Takatsuki Station, take the city bus bound for Tsukawaki (bus number 51). Get off at the Tsukawaki bus stop, from which it is a 10-minute walk to the park entrance. Bus fare is approximately ¥220.

  • Driving

    If driving, paid parking is available at the Settsukyo Shimoguchi Parking Lot. The parking fee is ¥1000 per day, or ¥500 for visits after 5 PM. Note that parking is closed from mid-December to mid-March.

Settsukyo Park, located in Takatsuki City, Osaka, is a 42.65-hectare natural park along the Akutagawa River. Known for its scenic beauty, the park features unique rock formations, cliffs, and diverse flora that create a tranquil atmosphere. The area is often called “Settsu-Yabakei” and is recognized as one of the “100 Best Greenery Sceneries of Osaka”.The park offers various activities throughout the year. Spring brings the bloom of approximately 3,000 cherry trees, making it a prime spot for hanami (cherry blossom viewing). The Sakura Hiroba (Sakura Square) is particularly popular, with about 230 Somei Yoshino cherry trees. During the Settsukyo Cherry Blossom Festival, the park is illuminated in the evenings, creating a magical experience. In summer, visitors can enjoy the cool river gorges and the enchanting sight of fireflies at night. Autumn transforms the park with vibrant fall foliage, especially in the Momiji-dani valley, offering excellent opportunities for forest bathing (shinrin-yoku).The park features several attractions, including the 15-meter Shirataki Waterfall and uniquely shaped rocks like Meoto Iwa and Hachijo Iwa. Hiking trails cater to various skill levels, providing opportunities to explore the mountain forest. Other facilities include a playground, campsites, and a barbecue garden.
