Discover more about Shinkansen Park

Shinkansen Park offers a delightful experience for train enthusiasts and families alike. Located on the Awi River embankment in Settsu, Osaka, the park's main attractions are the preserved Shinkansen car No. 1 and an electric locomotive. The Shinkansen car, manufactured in 1969, was the first car in a 16-car train that ran between Tokyo, Shin-Osaka, and Hakata until 1984, traveling approximately 5.32 million km. The electric locomotive, built in 1954, served as a freighter on the Tokaido Main Line and Takasaki Line. It later transported mandarin oranges on the Hanwa and Kisei Lines for about 12 years until it was retired in 1983. Visitors can enter the train and sit in the driver's seat on Sundays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The park also features a cherry blossom tunnel that attracts many visitors in the spring. While the park itself is smaller than expected, it offers beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere.
