Car
If you're driving from Shima, first get onto Route 260, heading north. Follow Route 260 for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 38. Turn left onto Route 38 and continue for about 30 kilometers. You will come to a sign for Asahiyama Zoo, which will be located on your right. There is a parking fee of around 500 yen for the zoo.

Public Transportation
From Shima, take a local bus to Toba Station. From Toba Station, board an express train to Asahikawa Station. The train ride takes approximately 3 hours. Once at Asahikawa Station, transfer to bus number 36 towards Asahiyama Zoo, which takes about 30 minutes. The bus stops directly at the zoo entrance. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they can vary throughout the day.
