Getting There

Car
From Shimotsuke, head northwest on Route 50 towards Nikko. Follow signs for Nikko and take the exit onto Route 121. Continue on Route 121 for approximately 30 kilometers. As you approach Nikko, follow the signs for Nikko National Park. The park's entrance is located at Yumoto, Nikko, Tochigi 321-1662. There is a parking fee of around ¥500 for day use.

Public Transportation - Train
From Shimotsuke, take the JR Utsunomiya Line from Shimotsuke Station to Utsunomiya Station. Transfer to the JR Nikko Line and take the train to Nikko Station. From Nikko Station, take the Tobu Bus bound for Yumoto Onsen. The bus ride takes about 40 minutes. The bus fare is approximately ¥1,200. Get off at the Yumoto Onsen stop, which is near the entrance of Nikko National Park.
