Car
If driving, take the Tohoku Expressway and exit onto the Iwate Kesen Road. Follow the signs towards Sumita. Rōkandō Cave is approximately 20 minutes from the exit at Tsuchikura-298-81. Free parking is available near the cave entrance.
Public Transport
From Morioka Station, take the Iwate Galaxy Railway to Sumita Station. Transfer to a local bus towards Tsuchikura and disembark at the Tsuchikura stop. The cave is a short walk from the bus stop. Alternatively, take an express bus from Morioka Bus Terminal to Sumita Bus Terminal. From there, take a local bus or taxi to Tsuchikura. Bus fare from Sumita Bus Terminal to Tsuchikura is approximately ¥300. A taxi will cost around ¥1500.
