Walking
If you are already in Asakusa, reach Sensō-ji by walking from the nearby Asakusa Station. Exit the station from the Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) exit. Once outside, you will see the iconic Kaminarimon gate ahead. Walk straight through the gate and continue along Nakamise Street, which is lined with shops and stalls. Follow the street until you reach the main entrance to Sensō-ji, the Hōzōmon gate, which is approximately a 5-10 minute walk from the station.

If you are further away in Asakusa, you can take the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line or Toei Asakusa Line to Asakusa Station. After arriving at Asakusa Station, follow the signs to the Kaminarimon exit. Once you exit, you will see Kaminarimon ahead. Walk through the gate and along Nakamise Street, which leads directly to Sensō-ji. The subway fare ranges from ¥170 to ¥250 depending on your starting point.

For those in nearby neighborhoods, you can take a Toei bus to Asakusa. Look for the bus routes that have stops at Asakusa. Once you arrive at the bus stop, follow the signs to the Kaminarimon exit of Asakusa Station, where you’ll find Kaminarimon gate just a short walk away. From there, proceed through Nakamise Street to reach Sensō-ji. Bus fares typically range from ¥210 to ¥500 based on the distance.
