Getting There
Train
Take the JR Yamanote Line to Harajuku Station. The journey from Shinjuku Station to Harajuku Station takes about 5 minutes. Once you arrive at Harajuku Station, use the Omotesando Exit. After exiting the station, follow the signs directing you to Meiji Jingu. The entrance to Meiji Jingu is approximately a 10-minute walk from the station. Walk straight ahead, crossing the busy intersection, until you reach the large wooden torii gate marking the entrance to the shrine.
Metro
From Shinjuku Station, take the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line and get off at Meiji-Jingumae Station. The ride takes around 5 minutes. Upon exiting the station, follow the signs to the A1 exit. After exiting, walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach the large torii gate at the entrance of Meiji Jingu.
Walking
If you are near Yoyogi Park, simply walk towards the entrance of Meiji Jingu. The park is adjacent to the shrine, and you can enter through one of the park’s paths. It is about a 10-minute walk from the park’s entrance to the main shrine area. Follow the well-marked paths to reach the shrine, enjoying the serene atmosphere along the way.
Bus
You can take a bus from various locations in Tokyo that head to the Harajuku area. Look for a bus that stops at Harajuku Station. Once you disembark at the station, follow the Omotesando Exit and walk straight for about 10 minutes to reach the entrance of Meiji Jingu.
