Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, head south on Route 8 from Wakasa. Continue on Route 8 for approximately 25 kilometers until you reach the city of Nagahama. Once in Nagahama, take the exit toward Route 161 and follow signs for Motohamacho. The Hiyoshi Shrine is located at 16-16-10 Motohamacho, which will be on your right. There is parking available nearby.

    To reach Hiyoshi Shrine via public transportation, take the JR Hokuriku Main Line train from Wakasa Station to Nagahama Station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Nagahama Station, exit the station and take a local bus heading towards Motohamacho. Get off the bus at the Motohamacho stop. From there, it is a short 5-minute walk to the Hiyoshi Shrine located at 16-16-10 Motohamacho.
