Getting There

  • Car

    Start in Dana Village and head southeast on the main road towards the town of Wadi Musa. The drive is approximately 1 hour (around 30 km). Keep an eye out for road signs directing you to Petra. Once you arrive in Wadi Musa, park your car in one of the designated parking areas near the Petra Visitor Center, as parking is available for a fee. The cost for parking is around 5 JOD per day.

    From Dana Village, you can take a public bus or shared taxi that heads towards Wadi Musa. The bus may take longer, approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on stops and traffic. Make sure to confirm with the driver that the bus goes to Wadi Musa. Once you arrive in Wadi Musa, you can walk to the Petra Visitor Center; it’s about a 30-minute walk or you can take a local taxi for around 2 JOD.
