Car
If you're traveling by car from the Dead Sea Region, start by heading south on the Dead Sea Highway (Route 65). Follow the signs for Aqaba and remain on this road for approximately 70 kilometers (about 1 hour). As you approach the town of Rum, look for signs that direct you to Wadi Rum Protected Area. Turn left onto the Wadi Rum road and follow it for about 15 kilometers until you reach the entrance of the protected area. Note that there may be a small entrance fee of around 5 JOD (Jordanian Dinar) per person.

To reach Wadi Rum Protected Area using public transportation, you can take a bus from the Dead Sea area to Aqaba. The buses usually leave from various locations around the Dead Sea, such as the main hotels or bus stations. Once you arrive in Aqaba, you can find a minibus or taxi that goes directly to Wadi Rum. The journey from Aqaba to Wadi Rum takes approximately 1 hour. Be aware that the cost for the bus to Aqaba may be around 7 JOD, and the final leg of the trip to Wadi Rum could cost an additional 10-15 JOD, depending on whether you choose a minibus or taxi.

If you prefer a more direct option, you can hire a taxi from your location in the Dead Sea Region directly to Wadi Rum. This will be more expensive, with fares typically around 70-100 JOD depending on your exact starting point and negotiation with the driver. The journey should take around 1.5 hours. It's advisable to agree on the fare before starting your journey.
