Getting There

• Bus

  From the center of Irbid, head to the Irbid Bus Station located on the main street (Al-Hussein Street). Look for buses heading towards Jerash. The fare is usually around 1-2 JOD. The bus ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Jerash, get off at the main bus stop. From there, the Jerash Archaeological Museum is about a 15-minute walk. Head north on King Abdullah II Street, and then turn right onto the road leading to the archaeological site.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Irbid to Jerash. You can find taxis near the Irbid Bus Station or hail one from the street. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it should cost around 15-20 JOD. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Jerash Archaeological Museum, which is a well-known landmark.

• Walking/Biking (for the adventurous)

  For those feeling adventurous and in good shape, you could walk or bike to Jerash. Start from Irbid city center and head north on King Abdullah II Street. Follow this road for about 20 kilometers. It will take around 4-5 hours of walking or 1-2 hours of biking. Once you reach Jerash, look for signs pointing towards the archaeological sites, including the museum. This option is best for those familiar with the area and well-prepared for a long trek.
