From Petra Visitor Center, head south towards the entrance of the archaeological site. Once you enter, continue straight towards the Siq. Walk through the Siq, which is a narrow gorge that leads to the Treasury. After visiting the Treasury, continue walking along the main path. You will see signs pointing towards the Monastery (Ad Deir). Follow these signs. The path to the Monastery will lead you uphill. After approximately 1.2 kilometers, you will arrive at the Monastery. For accessing the 'Back Door' hiking route, you will need to take the right path heading up from the Monastery, which may involve some steep sections. Ensure you have good footwear and plenty of water.
