Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Petra Visitor Center, exit the center and head straight down the main path towards the Siq, the narrow gorge leading into Petra. Walk through the Siq, which is about 1.2 kilometers long. Once you exit the Siq, you'll arrive at the iconic Al-Khazneh (The Treasury). From there, continue straight along the main path, passing the Street of Facades on your right. After about 300 meters, veer left towards the Great Temple. The temple will be on your left; look for the large stone structure with intricate carvings.

If you are coming from the Basin Area, start at the Basin Restaurant and head down the path towards the main site. Follow the signs towards the Great Temple, which is located near the center of Petra. As you walk, you will pass by the Theater and then turn right at the large open area where the Great Temple is situated. Keep walking straight, and you will see the Great Temple ahead.
