Getting There

    Start your journey from the Petra Visitor Center, which is the main entrance to the archaeological site. From the Visitor Center, proceed through the entrance gate and follow the main path into Petra. After about 10-15 minutes, you will reach the famous Siq, a narrow gorge that leads to the Treasury. Continue through the Siq, taking in the stunning rock formations on either side. Once you emerge from the Siq, you will be in front of the Treasury, a must-see landmark. Take a moment to explore around the area before continuing your journey. From the Treasury, head towards the Street of Facades. Keep walking straight, and you will eventually reach the Colonnaded Street. Continue on this path, and you will see signs pointing towards the High Place of Sacrifice. Follow these signs until you reach the base of the mountain. The path will incline steeply, and it may take around 30-45 minutes of hiking to reach the top. As you climb, enjoy the breathtaking views around you. Once at the summit, you will find مطل قلاع طوال (Matal Qalaat Twaal) which offers panoramic views of the Petra landscape.
