Start at the Umm Qais Archaeological Park entrance. From the entrance, head south toward the main street (Al-Mahatta Street). Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with King Abdullah II Street. Turn left onto King Abdullah II Street and continue walking for about 1 kilometer. You will pass by various local shops and cafes along the way. Keep an eye out for signage that directs you to hiking trails.

As you approach the outskirts of Umm Qais, look for a sign indicating the start of the Cave of the Prophet Jesus trail. The trailhead is located near the junction of King Abdullah II Street and the path leading to Al Mokhaba Al Tahta. Follow the dirt path that leads towards the hills. The trail is well-marked with local signage, making it easier for you to navigate.

Once you are on the trail, follow the path that ascends gently through the landscape. You will have beautiful views of the surrounding area, including the Sea of Galilee. Continue on the marked trail for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the Cave of the Prophet Jesus. This part of the hike is relatively easy, but make sure to wear sturdy shoes and stay hydrated.

After spending time at the Cave, continue on the same trail that leads toward the Wadi Araba Dam. The path will gradually lead you down, offering spectacular views of the Sea of Galilee as you go. Follow the trail markers for an additional 2 kilometers until you reach the overlook point at Wadi Araba Dam. This area provides panoramic views, perfect for photography and relaxation.
