Getting There

• Walking

  From the heart of Downtown Kansas City, head northeast towards the River Market area. Start at the intersection of 5th and Main Street. Walk north on Main Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with 3rd Street. Turn left onto 3rd Street and continue straight until you reach the Missouri River. You’ll find the Missouri River Viewing Deck along the Riverfront Heritage Trail, which is well marked and offers beautiful views of the river.

• Public Transit

  If you prefer not to walk, you can take the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) bus. Locate the nearest bus stop on 10th Street near Main Street. Board the 'MAX' bus heading toward the River Market. The fare is $1.50 for a one-way trip. Get off at the 'River Market' stop and walk east along the Riverfront Heritage Trail for about 0.2 miles to reach the Missouri River Viewing Deck.

• Biking

  For a more active option, consider renting a bike from a local bike share program. Locate a nearby bike station and rent a bike for approximately $3.50 per hour. From Downtown, cycle northeast towards Riverfront Park, following the designated bike lanes. Once you reach the Riverfront Heritage Trail, head towards the Missouri River Viewing Deck, which is easily accessible and offers bike racks for parking.
