• Car

  If you're driving from central locations in Kazakhstan, take the M-36 highway towards Almaty. Once you arrive in Almaty, follow the signs to Almaty International Airport. After passing the airport, look for signs directing you to the Medeu area. You will take a right turn onto Kerey and Zhanibek Khans Street and follow it until you reach the entrance to Shymbulak Ski Resort, located at Kerey and Zhanibek Khans St 558/1. The road to the resort is well-maintained, but be cautious of the mountain roads, especially in winter.

  From Almaty, you can take a bus or a taxi to reach the Shymbulak Ski Resort. Use public transport to get to the Medeu area. Buses 28 and 12 frequently run from the city center to Medeu. Once you arrive at Medeu, look for the cable car station that will take you up to Shymbulak. The cable car ride offers stunning views and typically costs around 3,000 KZT for a round trip. Make sure to check the operating hours of the cable car, as they may vary depending on the season.

  You can also opt for a taxi, which is a more convenient but costlier option. From Almaty, use a ride-hailing app like Yandex Taxi or Uber. The fare to Shymbulak from the city center is approximately 5,000 to 7,000 KZT, depending on traffic conditions. Ensure that the driver knows the destination, which is located at Kerey and Zhanibek Khans St 558/1.
