Car
If you're traveling by car from the center of Almaty, head east on Abay Avenue (Abay Ave) and take the right onto Dostyk Avenue. Continue on Dostyk Avenue for about 5 kilometers until you see the signs for Kok Tobe. There is parking available at the base of the mountain. Be aware that parking may incur a small fee, typically around 500 KZT.

Public Transportation
From the central bus station in Almaty, take bus number 12, which goes directly to the Kok Tobe area. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to have some cash ready for the fare, which is around 150 KZT. The bus will drop you off at the base of the mountain, and from there, you can either hike up the trail or take the cable car for a small fee of about 1200 KZT one way.

If you prefer a scenic route, you can take the Kok Tobe cable car from the base of the mountain. The cable car station is located near the bus stop where you arrive. The cost for a round trip is approximately 2400 KZT. The cable car offers stunning views of the city as you ascend to the summit.
