Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from Almaty city center. Head southeast on Abai Avenue towards Zheltoksan Street. Continue straight onto Kerey and Zhanibek Khans Street, then follow the signs for Shymbulak Ski Resort. The drive takes approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Public Transportation (Bus)

From Almaty city center, you can take bus number 12 or 28. These buses depart from various stops in the city, including near Almaty 1 Railway Station. The fare is around 100 KZT (Kazakhstani Tenge), which you can pay in cash. The journey will take about 50 minutes. Get off at the 'Shymbulak' stop, and you will be within walking distance of the resort.

Taxi

For a more direct option, you can book a taxi from any location in Almaty. Services like Yandex.Taxi or Uber operate in the area. The cost will typically range from 3,000 to 4,500 KZT, and the ride will take about 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Cable Car

Once you arrive at Shymbulak Ski Resort, you may want to take the cable car to ascend further into the mountains. The cable car station is located at the base of the resort.
