Getting There

Car
From Turgen Gorge, head southeast on the main road. Follow the signs for Medeu and Almaty. After about 20 kilometers, you will arrive at the intersection for Butakovsky Gorge. Turn right onto the road leading to the gorge. Continue straight for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the parking area at the entrance of Butakovsky Gorge. Note that parking may have a fee, usually around 500 KZT.

Public Transportation
From Turgen Gorge, take a bus or shared taxi (marshrutka) heading towards Almaty. The fare is approximately 300 KZT. Inform the driver you want to get off at the Medeu District. Once you arrive at Medeu, you can take a local taxi to Butakovsky Gorge. The taxi ride will cost around 1500-2000 KZT and takes about 15 minutes. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting the trip.
