Getting There

  • Car

    Starting from Taldykorgan, take the A2 highway heading east towards Almaty. After approximately 70 km, turn onto the A370 road towards the village of Koksu. Continue on this road for about 90 km until you reach the town of Koksu. From Koksu, follow the signs to the Zhongar-Alatau National Park. The entrance to the park is approximately 30 km from Koksu, and you will need to pay an entrance fee of around 1,500 KZT per vehicle.

    From Taldykorgan, take a bus or shared taxi heading towards Koksu. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon reaching Koksu, you can hire a local taxi to take you the remaining 30 km to the entrance of Zhongar-Alatau National Park. Ensure to agree on the fare before starting the trip. The taxi ride from Koksu to the park entrance typically costs around 3,000 KZT.
