Car
If you're coming from the north part of the Appalachian Plateau, take US-119 South from towns like Harlan or Jenkins. Follow US-119 for approximately 15 miles until you reach the junction with KY-418. Turn left onto KY-418 and continue for about 5 miles. You'll start to see signs for Pine Mountain. The road will lead you directly to the Pine Mountain area. There is no toll on this route, and you can expect beautiful views along the way.

Start by taking a Greyhound bus to Harlan, KY, which is one of the nearest bus stops to Pine Mountain. Once you arrive in Harlan, you can use local taxi services or ride-sharing apps to reach Pine Mountain. The taxi ride will be approximately 15 miles south on US-119 and will cost around $25-$30. Ensure you schedule your taxi in advance, as local availability may vary.

If you prefer more flexibility, consider renting a car at the nearest airport, which is in Lexington, KY. From the airport, take I-75 South to London, then take US-25E to Harlan.
