Escape to Nature: Holly Bay Campground

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving through Daniel Boone National Forest, head towards London, Kentucky. From the center of London, take US-25 S (South Laurel Road) for about 5 miles. Then, turn left onto Laurel Lake Road (KY-1956) and follow the road until you reach Holly Bay Campground at 395 Laurel Lk Rd, London, KY 40744. The campground is well-signposted, and you should see signs directing you to it as you approach.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you will likely need to take a bus to London, KY. Once in London, you can arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Holly Bay Campground. Note that public transit options may be limited, so check local schedules ahead of time and consider booking a ride in advance. The campground is approximately 10 miles from the bus station in London.

• Bicycle

  For adventurous cyclists, you can bike to Holly Bay Campground. From London, take US-25 S and then turn left onto Laurel Lake Road (KY-1956). The road is relatively easy to navigate, but be aware of vehicle traffic as you travel. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water, as this route can be quite remote.

• Walking/Hiking

  If you are already within the vicinity of the campground and prefer a hike, you can navigate to Holly Bay Campground using nearby trails. Make sure to have a detailed hiking map of the area, as trails may not be well-marked. The campground is approximately 2 miles from the nearest trailhead, so ensure you are prepared for a moderate hike with proper gear.
