Getting There

• Car

  If you are already in Natural Bridge State Resort Park, head south on KY-11 S from the park entrance. Continue for approximately 1 mile until you reach a T-junction. Turn left onto KY-15 S. After about 2 miles, take a right onto the road leading into the parking area for Balanced Rock. The parking lot is unpaved, so be cautious of your vehicle. From the parking area, follow the well-marked hiking trail that leads to Balanced Rock, which is approximately a 0.5-mile hike uphill.

• Public Transportation

  There are limited public transportation options in the area. However, if you are staying at a local hotel or lodge, inquire about shuttle services to Natural Bridge State Resort Park. Once at the park, follow the same directions for hiking as you would by car. If no shuttles are available, consider contacting a local taxi service to take you to the park entrance. From there, follow the hiking trail to Balanced Rock.

• Hiking

  If you are already in Natural Bridge State Resort Park and prefer to hike, start at the Natural Bridge Trailhead. Follow the trail markers for the Balanced Rock trail. The hike is moderate and will take you approximately 30-40 minutes to reach Balanced Rock. Make sure to wear proper hiking shoes and bring water, as the trail can be steep in some sections.
