Car
From the central Outer Bluegrass area, get onto I-264 E. Follow I-264 E for about 10 miles. Take exit 15 for US-60 E toward Shelbyville. Merge onto US-60 E and continue for about 2 miles. Turn left onto Illinois Ave. After about 0.5 miles, you will see the Louisville Nature Center on your right at 3745 Illinois Ave, Louisville, KY 40213. Parking is available on-site, and there is no fee for parking.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can take the TARC bus. Board the TARC route 23 at a nearby bus stop in Outer Bluegrass. Ride the bus towards Downtown Louisville and get off at the stop near the intersection of Newburg Rd and Illinois Ave. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk (0.7 miles) to the Louisville Nature Center. Head south on Illinois Ave, and the center will be on your left at 3745 Illinois Ave, Louisville, KY 40213. Please check TARC's current schedule for fares and frequency.
Bicycle
For those who enjoy cycling, you can bike to the Louisville Nature Center from Outer Bluegrass. Head south on local roads to connect with the bike paths along the US-60 E. Follow the bike paths for about 2 miles, then turn left onto Illinois Ave. The center will be on your right at 3745 Illinois Ave, Louisville, KY 40213. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling laws.
