From Mombasa, take the A109 road heading northwest towards Nairobi. Continue on the A109 for approximately 200 kilometers until you reach the junction at Kisumu. At the junction, take the A1 road towards Kisumu and then follow signs to Kakamega. After about 40 kilometers, turn left onto the B1 road and continue for about 20 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Kakamega Forest, which is located on the Isukha Central A1 road.

To reach Kakamega Forest via public transportation, start by taking a matatu (shared minibus) from Mombasa to Kisumu. The fare is around 500 KES and the journey takes about 6-7 hours. Once in Kisumu, transfer to another matatu heading to Kakamega. This leg of the trip costs about 200 KES and takes roughly 1 hour. After arriving in Kakamega town, you can either take a taxi or walk to Kakamega Forest, which is about 10 kilometers away. Taxi fares may vary but expect to pay around 400-600 KES.
