Getting There

  • Bicycle

    From any location in Diani Beach, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Start by heading north along the Diani Beach Road (A14). Continue for about 5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the Kwale Road. Take a right turn onto Kwale Road and follow it for another 12 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Shimba Hills National Reserve. The entrance is located off the Kasemeni Sinango Road.

  • Matatu (Public Minibus)

    Find a matatu station in Diani Beach, often located near shopping areas. Board a matatu heading to Kwale or Ukunda. Inform the conductor that you want to go to Shimba Hills. The matatu will drop you off near the entrance to the reserve. From there, you can either walk or arrange for a local guide or taxi to take you the short distance to the main gate.
