Walking
If you are starting from the Kisumu city center, head southwest towards Oginga Odinga Street. Walk straight along Oginga Odinga Street, passing by various shops and local markets. Continue walking until you reach the junction with Kisumu-Kakamega Road (A1). Cross the road carefully and continue walking along the same road. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach a large roundabout. From the roundabout, take the exit towards Nyalenda. Follow this road for another 1 kilometer, and you will see signs leading to Dunga Wetland Swamp. Keep walking until you reach the entrance of the Dunga Wetland Swamp Boardwalk.
Bicycle
From Kisumu city center, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many local rental shops. Start your ride by heading southwest on Oginga Odinga Street. After about 1 kilometer, take a right turn onto Kisumu-Kakamega Road (A1). Continue for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. Take the exit towards Nyalenda and cycle for about 1 kilometer. Look for the signs directing you to Dunga Wetland Swamp. Follow these signs, and you will find the entrance to the boardwalk.
Public Transport (Matatus)
From Kisumu city center, head to the main matatu (shared taxi) stage located near Kenyatta Sports Ground. Look for a matatu heading towards Nyalenda. Board the matatu and inform the driver that you want to get off at the Dunga Wetland area. The journey will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive, walk towards the signs for Dunga Wetland Swamp Boardwalk, which should be a short walk from where you alight.
