Getting There

Bicycle
Start your journey from Kisumu city center. Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Head east on Oginga Odinga Street towards the Kisumu International Airport road. Continue straight for about 8 kilometers until you reach the junction at Kisumu-Kakamega Road. Take a right turn onto Kakamega Road and continue for about 15 kilometers. You will pass through scenic landscapes. Look for signs indicating Nandi Hills. As you approach the Nandi Hills area, follow the local signs pointing towards the Nandi Hills Hiking Center. Finally, bike up the last stretch to the center.

Public Transport (Matatu)
From Kisumu city center, head to the nearest matatu stage. Look for a matatu heading towards Nandi Hills or Eldoret. The fare is usually affordable. Once seated, inform the driver that you want to alight at the Nandi Hills junction. The journey will take approximately 1 hour depending on traffic. When you reach the junction, get off the matatu and ask locals for directions to Nandi Hills Hiking Center, which is about a 10-minute walk from the junction, following the signs.

Walking
If you are near the Kisumu waterfront, start your walk towards the city center. From there, head to the main bus stage and catch a matatu towards Nandi Hills as described above. After getting off at the Nandi Hills junction, you can walk the remaining distance to the Hiking Center. Follow the road signs that guide you to the center. The walk will take approximately 30 minutes, and you will enjoy beautiful views along the way.
