Stay on the main road and watch for local landmarks such as the Nyamasaria Market to keep your bearings.

For a quicker option, you can hire a motorbike taxi (boda boda) from any point in Nyamasaria. Just tell the rider 'Hippo Point' or 'Hippopoint.' The ride should take about 10-15 minutes and will cost you around 100-200 Kenyan Shillings depending on your negotiation skills and the distance. Be sure to wear a helmet and confirm the fare before starting your journey.

You can take a matatu (shared minibus) from one of the stops in Nyamasaria heading towards Kisumu town. Ask the conductor to drop you off at 'Hippo Point' or near the lakeside.
