    To reach Shimba Hills National Reserve from Mombasa, start at the Mombasa Old Port bus stage. Look for a matatu (shared minibus) heading towards Kwale or Ukunda. Ensure you confirm with the driver that they will take you to Shimba Hills or drop you off at the nearest junction. The fare should be around 200-300 Kenyan Shillings. Once you reach the Shimba Hills junction, ask to be dropped off, where you can find a motorbike taxi (boda boda) waiting to take you the remaining distance.

  • Boda Boda

    After being dropped off at the Shimba Hills junction, look for a boda boda stand. Negotiate the price (it should be around 300-500 Kenyan Shillings) for a ride to the entrance of Shimba Hills National Reserve. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Ensure you give the driver clear directions, mentioning the reserve.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk from the Shimba Hills junction, head down the main road (Kasemeni sinango road) towards the direction of Shimba Hills National Reserve.
