Starting from Nanyuki in the Mount Kenya Region, head north on the A2 highway towards Isiolo. Continue for approximately 140 kilometers (about 2 hours) until you reach the junction for the C77 road. Turn right onto the C77 road and follow it for about 30 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Samburu National Reserve. Be sure to keep an eye on your fuel gauge, as there are limited fuel stations along this route.

From Nanyuki, you can take a matatu (shared minibus) heading to Isiolo. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon reaching Isiolo, you need to transfer to another matatu heading to Samburu National Reserve. The ride from Isiolo to Samburu may take about 2 to 3 hours. Make sure to confirm with the driver that the matatu is going to Samburu, as routes can vary. Additionally, you may incur costs for both matatus, usually ranging from 500 to 1000 KES in total.
