Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Mount Longonot town, start by heading north on the A104 road. Continue on this road for approximately 7 km until you see a sign for Mt Longonot National Park. Turn left onto the road leading to the park entrance. Keep an eye out for directional signs. The entrance is well-marked and you will need to pay an entry fee of about 30 KES for Kenyan citizens and 1000 KES for non-residents. Parking is available near the entrance.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Mt Longonot National Park via public transport, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Mount Longonot to Naivasha. Look for a matatu heading towards Naivasha in the central area of Mount Longonot. The fare is typically around 100 KES. Once you reach Naivasha, you can take another matatu or a taxi directly to the park entrance. The fare for this leg is about 50-100 KES depending on the vehicle. Ensure to communicate with the driver to stop at the Mt Longonot National Park entrance.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous and wish to cycle, you can rent a bicycle in Mount Longonot. Start from the town center and head north on the A104 road. It’s about a 7 km ride to the park entrance. The road is mostly paved, but be cautious of traffic. There is no entry fee for bicycles, but you will still need to pay the entry fee once you reach the park.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking, you can trek from Mount Longonot to the park. The distance is approximately 7 km, following the same route as the vehicles on the A104 road. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. This journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. While there is no cost associated with walking, you will still need to pay the park entry fee upon arrival.
