Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Nakuru Town Centre, head towards Kenyatta Avenue. Walk down Kenyatta Avenue until you reach the intersection with Moi Road. Turn left onto Moi Road and continue walking straight. You will pass by various shops and local eateries. After about 1 kilometer, you will reach the junction with the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway (A104). Cross the highway carefully and look for the sign indicating Menengai Crater. There are usually local guides offering to take tourists to the viewpoint. If you find a guide, you can negotiate a price for a walking tour to Menengai Crater View Point.

• Bicycle

  From the Nakuru Town Centre, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops. Start your journey by cycling along Kenyatta Avenue. Continue to Moi Road and turn left. Ride straight until you reach the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway (A104). Carefully cross the highway, following the signs for Menengai Crater. The road may have some inclines, so be prepared for a bit of a workout. Once you reach the Menengai Crater entrance, you can park your bicycle and walk the remaining distance to the view point.

• Motorbike Taxi (Boda Boda)

  In Nakuru, you can easily find motorbike taxis, commonly known as boda bodas. Hail a boda boda from a designated taxi stand or by the roadside. Communicate to the rider that you want to go to Menengai Crater View Point. They will take you through the town and onto the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway. Be sure to agree on a fare before starting your journey. The ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic, and will drop you off at the entrance to Menengai Crater.
