Once you reach the junction for Kakamega town, take the turn towards the town center. Continue straight until you see signs directing you to Kakamega Forest. The forest entrance is located on Isukha Central A1, approximately 5 km from the town center. Be cautious of local traffic and road conditions.
Public Transportation
To reach Kakamega Forest via public transport, start by finding a local matatu (shared taxi) or bus heading towards Kakamega town. You can catch these from major towns in North Eastern Province. Once you arrive in Kakamega town, ask around for matatus heading to the Kakamega Forest entrance or you can take a motorcycle taxi (boda boda) directly to the entrance. The fare for a matatu is approximately 100-200 KES, while a boda boda ride may cost around 200-300 KES, depending on your negotiation skills.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from Kakamega town to the forest, it is about a 5 km distance. From the town center, follow signs for Isukha Central A1.
