Getting there

Car

If you're traveling by car, start from the main town of Garissa. Head southeast on the A3 road towards the town of Mukumu. After approximately 55 km, take a left turn onto a dirt road marked with local signage towards The Crying Stone. Continue on this road for about 10 km until you reach the parking area near the site. Note that the last part of the road may be rough, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended.

Public Transportation (Matatu)

From Garissa, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) heading to Mukumu. The fare is typically around 200 KES per person. Once you arrive in Mukumu, hire a local boda boda (motorcycle taxi) for about 100 KES to take you to The Crying Stone. They are familiar with the area and can navigate the best routes for you. The ride should take approximately 15-20 minutes.

Walking

If you're feeling adventurous and are already in Mukumu, you can walk to The Crying Stone. From the town center, head southeast along the main road for about 6 km. Keep an eye out for local signs pointing toward The Crying Stone. The walk will take roughly 1.5 to 2 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
