Car

If you are traveling by car, start from Kisumu city. Head east on the Kisumu-Kakamega Road (A1) and continue for about 25 kilometers. Then, take the exit onto the Kisumu-Busia Road (B1) and follow it for another 50 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Mombasa Road (A104). Turn onto the A104 heading south and drive for approximately 250 kilometers. When you reach Kilifi, use GPS coordinates (Latitude: -3.6395141, Longitude: 39.8438272) to find the Mnarani ruins. There is parking available near the site.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, start by taking a matatu (shared minibus) from Kisumu to Mombasa. The journey takes about 5-6 hours, and fares may range from KSh 800 to KSh 1200. Once you arrive in Mombasa, transfer to a matatu heading to Kilifi. This segment of the journey will take about 1 hour and costs around KSh 200. When you reach Kilifi, you can take a taxi or walk to the Mnarani ruins, which is about 5 kilometers from the town center. Always confirm the fare with the taxi driver before starting your ride.
