If you are traveling by rental car, start from the main entrance of Shaba National Reserve. Head south on the main road for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the road leading to Isiolo. Turn left onto this road and continue for another 10 kilometers. PRECIOUS BIRDS HAVEN will be on your right. Ensure you have a GPS device or map application handy, as some road signs may be sparse.

Public Transport
For those using public transportation, take a matatu (shared minibus) from the nearest town in Shaba National Reserve heading to Isiolo. The matatus are usually available at designated pickup spots. The fare is approximately 200 KES per person. Once you arrive at Isiolo, you can hire a local taxi to take you directly to PRECIOUS BIRDS HAVEN, which is about 15 kilometers away. Make sure to negotiate the taxi fare beforehand; it should be around 1000 KES.

Walking
If you are adventurous and prefer to walk, from the main entrance of Shaba National Reserve, you can hike down to the main road leading to Isiolo. Be prepared for a long walk of about 15 kilometers, which could take around 3-4 hours. This route offers scenic views but ensure you carry enough water and have a means of navigation. Once you reach the main road, you can catch a matatu or taxi to your destination.
