Getting There

    From Brezovica Ski Resort, head north on the local road towards the town of Suva Reka. Continue on this road until you reach the intersection with Route 7. Turn left onto Route 7 and follow it for about 45 km. You will come to a roundabout; take the second exit to stay on Route 7 towards Skopje. Continue on Route 7 for approximately 30 km until you reach the border crossing into North Macedonia. After crossing the border, continue on the same road, which will eventually become the A2 highway. Follow the signs for Matka Lake, which is approximately 20 km from the border. The lake is well-marked, and you will find parking available near the entrance.

    From Brezovica Ski Resort, take a taxi or shuttle to the nearest bus station in Suva Reka. At the bus station, board a bus heading to Skopje. The bus ride will take about 1.5 hours. Once in Skopje, you will need to transfer to another bus or taxi that goes to Matka Lake. This final leg of the journey will take about 30 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may vary throughout the day. Expect to pay for both bus rides, typically around 2-3 EUR for the ride from Suva Reka to Skopje and an additional 1-2 EUR for the trip to Matka Lake.
