Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, which is Vientiane. Take Route 13 North towards Luang Prabang. After approximately 200 km, you will reach the junction for Route 8. Turn onto Route 8 and continue for about 50 km until you see signs for Ban Long. From Ban Long, follow the unnamed road indicated by GPS coordinates QX4W+G63 for approximately 10 km. Be prepared for a bumpy ride, as the road may not be fully paved. Look out for signs or local directions to the waterfall, which is popular among tourists and locals alike.
Public Transportation
To reach Khoun Moung Keo Waterfall using public transportation, first take a bus from Vientiane to Paksan. Buses leave regularly and the journey takes about 4-5 hours. From Paksan, catch a local bus or a tuk-tuk to Ban Long. The fare for the local bus is approximately 20,000 LAK. Once in Ban Long, you can hire a tuk-tuk or a motorbike taxi to take you to the waterfall. This final leg of the journey may cost around 50,000-100,000 LAK, depending on your negotiation skills. Ensure to confirm with the driver that they will take you to the waterfall, as not all drivers may know the exact location.
